Mary Cleary, 2006 Fellow and DWP Teacher Consultant, recently accepted the position of Public Relations Consultant for the Delaware Writing Project. Cleary also received a Reading & Writing Grant from MBNA for books, a bookcase and Reading Counts quizzes. Additionally, Cleary’s school (Wilson Elementary) was selected as a National Distinguished Title I School, for which they will receive an additional grant. Cleary will fly to California at the end of January to accept the award. Finally, Cleary recently earned National Board Certification.
On October 12, Dawn Downes, 1998 Fellow and DWP Teacher Consultant, successfully defended her Executive Position Papers. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at winter commencement in January, 2007.
Terri Eros, 1999 Fellow and DWP Teacher Consultant, recently achieved National Board Certification status as a Middle Childhood Generalist.
Laurie Palmer, 1998 Fellow, DWP Teacher Consultant and instructor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware, received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Literacy. Her Executive Position Paper, “Looking Back – Moving Forward: The Development of The University of Delaware – Milford School District Professional Development School Partnership,” was successfully defended in July, 2006.
Patricia Scott, 2002 Fellow and DWP Technology Liaison, received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Technology. Her Executive Position Paper focused on a Technology Institute she implemented, funded by NWP’s Technology Mini-grant. Within this paper she implemented and evaluated a professional development model that helped teachers effectively integrate technology with the teaching of writing. |
